To protect students, the Stillwater community and tens of thousands of alumni, the Oklahoma State University Alumni Association postponed the 100th anniversary celebration of America’s Greatest Homecoming to fall 2021.
Given the nature of homecoming festivities and its massive crowds, the Alumni Association would have had no way to monitor capacity or enforce pandemic safety measures. With OSU’s top priority being safety, the Alumni Association did its part to protect the Cowboy family.
To fight feelings of isolation and serve students, the Alumni Association and Homecoming Executive Team presented Pokes Palooza Oct. 25-31. The event blended such traditional homecoming events as dyeing the Edmon Low fountain orange with new events like a virtual concert with the country duo Thompson Square, creating a space for students to safely connect and showcase their Cowboy spirit.
