Bob Adams Discusses His Father and Uncle, the First Students to Enroll and Graduate at OSU Bob Adams Discusses His Father and Uncle, the First Students to Enroll and Graduate at OSU

The citizens of Stillwater packed the assembly hall of the College Building (Old Central) on June 10, 1896 to witness the first graduation exercises of the Oklahoma Agricultural and Mechanical College, which included six young men, all residents of Stillwater. Because Arthur W. Adams (standing, second from left in photo) received his bachelor's degree first, he is considered the college's first graduate. The rest of the class included, standing left to right: James H. Adams, Arthur, Ervin G. Lewis, and Oscar M. Morris. Seated, left to right, are Alfred E. Jarrell and Frank E Duck.
