The completion of Morrill Hall, in 1906, prepared the college for the first decades of Oklahoma statehood.
Named after Justin Morrill, the father of land-grant colleges, its sheer size, including massive columns, provided a new and expanding perspective for future campus development.
Morrill Hall was proclaimed the newest and largest agricultural facility in the territory during an elaborate formal ceremony to lay the cornerstone on Jan. 15, 1906.
The building was used to help recruit students to the relatively new college.
