A Shorthorn steer, that was born and bred at Oklahoma A&M College, was declared the winner of the coveted grand championship at the Chicago International Exposition in 1947.
Known as Royal Jupiter, the steer was crowned "King Sirloin" for 1946-47 in a January ceremony on campus. Royal Jupiter then went on a national tour, thanks to his purchaser, the Firestone Tire and Rubber company of Akron, Ohio.
