A club for student pilots, the Flying Aggies, was established under the leadership of Hoyt E. Walkup. The purpose of the club is to encourage interest in aviation, to provide safe, economical flying for its members, and to advance the knowledge of the membership in aeronautical and related subjects.

Over the years, the Aggies have also established an excellent reputation in both regional and national flying competitions.
