Willham Hall opened in 1966. Considered a state-of-the-art facility at the time, the two high-rise towers of the residence hall were connected by a two-story building which provided a lobby and cafeteria on the lower level and a lounge and recreation area on the second floor. After almost 40 years of use, the process for demolishing the complex started on Monday, January 24, 2005. Willham alumni from around the nation and world were able to watch the demolition on the Internet. A Web cam, mounted on a building across the street transmitted pictures throughout the demolition. A similar high rise complex, Kerr-Drummond remains in use on campus.
