OSU's baseball program became a national powerhouse during the 1980s.

Under head coach Gary Ward (pictured), the baseball team won its seventh consecutive Big Eight championship, its seventh consecutive NCAA Regional championship and went to its seventh consecutive College World Series, a national record. 

The Cowboys would go on to win the Big Eight baseball tournament 16 straight times, from 1980 to 1996.
