OSU running back Barry Sanders put together what has been called the greatest individual season in college football history.
He won the highest individual honor a college football player can win, the Heisman Trophy. He is OSU's only winner of the award.
During that historic season, Sanders set numerous individual season college football records with 2,628 rushing yards, 3,248 total yards, 39 touchdowns, 37 rushing touchdowns, five consecutive 200-yard games and scoring at least two touchdowns in 11 straight games.
Sanders also won two other player of the year awards in his historic season, the Maxwell Award and the Walter Camp Award.
