The Oklahoma A&M College School of Technical Training, now known as OSU Institute of Technology, held it first official graduation ceremony on January 14, 1949. In reality, 142 people had already graduated.
Among the school’s many offerings were auto mechanics, baking (pictured), building construction, architectural drafting, furniture repair and upholstery, carpentry, plumping, surveying, masonry, air-conditioning, radio repair, building inspection, and linotype. By 1951, the Okmulgee Rehabilitation Center opened on campus to accommodate the physically disabled.
