1910 Literary societies and library study

Literary societies were popular on campus during the early years.

Open to both men and women, the Sigma Literary Society helped students improve their oratory and general literature knowledge while promoting friendship.

The Sigma Serenaders (pictured), established as part of the society in 1897, offered entertainment on campus and in the community.

The pleasant and well-lighted surroundings of the reading room at the library (Williams Hall) was a popular place for study.
