1915 Boh's band

Often called "Oklahoma A&M's John Philip Sousa," Bohumil Makovsky was a prominent professional musician who served as head of the music department from 1915 to 1943.

Those who played for him in the band were proud to be one of "Boh's boys" who were taught promptness and responsibility as well as music.

Boh started a state band clinic in 1933 to help develop and strengthen public school band programs. Nationally prominent band directors and instrumental specialist were brought in each year.
