The first issue of "Oklahoma Economic Research" was published by the College of Business Administration (now Spears School of Business) to help promote economic development in the state.
The publication won the "Award of Excellence in Publications" presented by the Association for University Business and Economic Research in 1984.
Economists from the college soon began holding news conferences during the annual release of the report. Bob Dauffenbacck is pictured announcing highlights and fielding questions from the news media in 1988.
More recently, the release of the latest report, called “Oklahoma Economic Outlook,” includes an economic forecast that is detailed by OSU economists at annual meetings in Oklahoma City and Tulsa.
