2014 Postal Plaza Gallery unveils its first formal exhibit

After offering a peek preview the previous October, the Oklahoma State University Museum of Art unveiled its first formal exhibit and a portion of its expansive art collection on January 13, 2014, at the new Postal Plaza Gallery in downtown Stillwater.

Titled "Sharing a Journey: Building the Oklahoma State University Museum of Art Collection," it marked the first time that OSU had been able to show the public some of the items the university had been collecting since the 1930s. Works from the ancient world to the present day were featured, with a geographical range that spans the globe.

The late Doel Reed, art department head and a nationally recognized printmaker, started the collection to use in teaching students and it remains a valuable resource for faculty and students alike.
