Four people were killed and nearly 50 injured when a car plowed through a crowd near the end of the OSU Homecoming parade route on Saturday, Oct., 24, 2015. The tragedy took the lives of a small child, a retired OSU professor and his wife, and a student visiting from a nearby university. The response of bystanders and trained professionals, many participating in the parade, was credited with helping quickly prepare the injured for transport to area hospitals and for saving lives. OSU and Stillwater responded with fundraising, a memorial and vigils following the tragedy. Stillwater Medical Center announced that none of those injured would be billed for their treatment.
