North of Stillwater, an airport was constructed that could accommodate most of the large planes used by the military services. Now operating as Stillwater Regional Airport, all flight training at OSU is conducted there. The airport offers modern services and serves as an ideal training field. Its control tower is open seven days a week, offering flight students continuous exposure to air traffic control. In 2016, American Airlines partnered with Stillwater Regional Airport to offer flights anywhere in the world from SWO through Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW).
