Cowboy golf wins 12th NCAA title, OSU's 54th overall

Oklahoma State’s men’s golf team captured its 12th national championship with a 3-1 victory over Virginia at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, California. It marks the Cowboys’ second title under head coach Alan Bratton, who also won as a player (1995) and assistant coach (2006).The second-ranked Cowboys ended the season with five straight wins and seven total victories. Freshman Filip Fahlberg-Johnsson remained undefeated in match play, securing OSU’s first point. Sophomore Gaven Lane rallied from 2-down to win 4&3, and Eric Lee clinched the title with a clutch birdie on 17 and a decisive up-and-down on 18.The championship was OSU’s second under the current match play format and a testament to the team’s resilience and chemistry. “They’ve heard the stories — now they have their own,” Bratton said. “This group is tough, confident, and built for moments like this.”With a young roster of freshmen and sophomores, the Cowboys proved their depth and determination, continuing OSU’s storied golf legacy.
