The Oklahoma A&M College School of Technical Training, now known as OSU Institute of Technology, held its first official graduation ceremony on Jan. 14, 1949. In reality, 142 people had already graduated. Among the school’s many offerings were auto mechanics, baking (pictured), building construction, architectural drafting, furniture repair and upholstery, carpentry, plumbing, surveying, masonry, air conditioning, radio repair, building inspection, and linotype. By 1951, the Okmulgee Rehabilitation Center opened on campus to accommodate people with disabilities.
