Growth in the ‘Roaring Twenties’ a new stadium, radios and the latest fads

The faculty had increased 45% from 1923-26 and most instructors now held advanced degrees. President Bradford Knapp had broken ground on several new facilities, including a new football stadium. Radio was big and families throughout Oklahoma could now hear more news about the college from regular broadcasts. Oklahoma A&M College football games were broadcast for the first time in 1926. The student body was aware of the fads and fancies of the decade, with more than a few dashing Aggie men stepping out attired in a pork pie hat and raccoon coat and carrying a swagger stick. Women sported bright jewelry, short skirts and bobbed hair.
