Holder named athletic director

Men's golf coach Mike Holder was named athletic director at OSU in 2005 and soon began overseeing the transition of Boone Pickens Stadium to one of America's most spectacular football facilities. He developed a facilities master plan that resulted in the construction of the Sherman Smith Indoor Practice Facility, new football practice fields, the Michael and Anne Greenwood Tennis Center and a new outdoor track and field facility. A lead figure in the construction of Karsten Creek Golf Club, which is a fixture on any list of best collegiate facilities in the country, Holder was a finalist for the 2013 National Athletic Director of the Year award from the SportsBusiness Journal. Holder retired in 2021.
