In June 2023, Oklahoma State University named Dr. James Payne dean of the Spears School of Business following a national search. Payne served as dean of the Woody L. Hunt College of Business at the University of Texas at El Paso since May 2019. Payne’s appointment was approved by the OSU/A&M Board of Regents at their regular June meeting in Oklahoma City. Payne replaced the retiring Dr. Ken Eastman.
