OSU shines bright at 1996 Olympics

The Cowboys and Cowgirls fielded some shining stars for the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta,  including Michele Smith (pictured), who pitched her way to Olympic gold medals that year and 2000 in fast pitch softball. Wrestler Kendall Cross won the gold medal in the 125-pound freestyle competition in 1996. Former OSU assistant coach Bruce Baumgartner won the bronze medal for his heavyweight freestyle effort, and former Cowboy Kenny Monday placed sixth in freestyle at 163 pounds.
