Will Rogers on campus

Comedian and humanitarian Will Rogers, known as “Oklahoma's Favorite Son,” visited campus to raise money for a campaign to fight hunger in areas of America that had been hard hit by drought and the stock market crash of 1929. About 1,700 students attended the event, which raised more than $2,500 for relief efforts. Rogers’ 15,000 mile tour via airplane ultimately raised more than $250,000 for the Red Cross and related agencies. Rogers is conversing with Zack Mulhall in the first photo.
