Winning football coach takes the helm

Lynn O. "Pappy" Waldorf took over as football coach in 1928 and won four state championships and two Missouri Valley Conference titles in six seasons. During his years in the orange and black, Waldorf's teams never lost to the University of Oklahoma or the University of Tulsa. Waldorf was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1966. He died Aug. 15, 1981.
