President Burns Hargis and his wife, Ann, joined others on campus to welcome in the holidays with carols and a formal wreath-lighting ceremony in front of Edmon Low Library. The 230 pound wreath is hung below the library's bell tower, where lighted garland also lined the roof. The ceremony also recognized the anniversary of OSU's founding, Dec. 25, 1890. It was sponsored by the Student Government Association, which also supplied hot chocolate afterward to a crowd of about 75. The event has since grown exponentially and seems destined to be an annual tradition.
