A. C. Hartenbower, class of 1905, became the first person from Oklahoma A&M College to take the knowledge of the campus abroad. As a young agronomy assistant, he served in Peru. Hartenbower returned to campus to teach from 1910-1914 before leaving for Guam, where he served as director of an agricultural experiment station.
