Wrestler Robert "Bobby" Pearce became Oklahoma A&M College's first All-American in 1923.

He was already quite accomplished when he arrived in Stillwater as a three-time state high school champion from Cushing, where he went undefeated in three seasons.

He won an Olympic gold medal in 1932, competed as a professional wrestler after the Olympics and eventually coached wrestling at the high school and college levels.
