Whitehurst Hall was dedicated in 1926 and still serves today as the administration building on campus. It also used to be the place that students enrolled.
Back in '26, the arriving students got a dose of Oklahoma A&M College's "ag atmosphere" right away with sheep grazing nearby.
The building was named in honor of John A. Whitehurst (pictured in additional photo), president of the Oklahoma State Board of Agriculture (1918-1926), the college's governing body at the time.
