Twenty-six students with the first graduating class from the School of Veterinary Medicine walked proudly across the platform on May 28, 1951, to receive their academic hoods and degrees in a ceremony at Gallagher Hall.

President Henry Bennett showed his pride in the first class of graduates by arranging for them to be seated in the front row.
