The size of Gallagher-Iba Arena almost doubled with a major expansion that was completed in 2000 at a cost of $56 million.

The seating capacity of the arena also more than doubled to 13,611, but the arena still provided a close-up view from any seat inside.

The Cowboys returned to the historic arena on December 19, 2000, to defeat the University of Arkansas-Little Rock.
