The Cowboys posted 10 regular season wins in 2010 for the first time ever, won a share of the Big-12 South Division championship and finished strong by beating Arizona 36 -10 in the Alamo Bowl.

Leading the way for the record-setting OSU offense was the "OSU Triple Threat" of quarterback Brandon Weeden, running back Kendall Hunter and wide receiver Justin Blackmon. The trio became the first in NCAA FBS history to combine for more than 4,000 passing yards, 1,500 rushing yards, and 1,500 receiving yards.
