For seventy years, the Library Building (Williams Hall) had graced the OSU campus as the "castle of the prairies." With its turrets and spires, the building had a fairy-tale quality about it. For those who like a scary story, there were plenty about the skeleton that "lived" in a biology lab in the building. The picturesque structure was leveled in the summer of 1969 prompting one reporter to write: "Like the fall of all royalty, the departure was unceremonious."
