Oklahoma State University unveils a statue of the “ultimate Cowboy,” OSU alumnus Boone Pickens, outside Boone Pickens Stadium on Nov. 28.
OSU continues to honor Pickens, who generously donated $625 million to OSU over his lifetime. As a tribute to his impact on the athletic department, the statue was placed outside the football stadium that bears his name.
Pickens was laid to rest at OSU’s Karsten Creek Golf Club. His childhood home, the Holdenville House, was moved to his final resting place, and OSU hosted a virtual dedication of the home to “the giant who walked among us.”
