Jimmie Baker and the Collegians takes OAMC by storm
Once dubbed “America's best college band” by Downbeat magazine, James H. “Jimmie” Baker and the Collegians performed at many campus events. Upon graduation, Baker went to Hollywood and became a successful television producer and director. He was awarded the Henry G. Bennett Distinguished Service Award in 1991. Baker died in 2003 at the age of 82.
